Mike Portnoy back with the band for а historic tour and concert in Plovdiv on July 21, 2025
The famous progressive metal titans, Grammy Award winners and beloved by some of the most passionate fans in the world, Dream Theater are returning to the Bulgarian audience next year for an unforgettable musical experience at the Ancient Theater in Plovdiv. The band, once again in its legendary lineup – John Petrucci, Mike Portnoy, James Labrie, John Myung and Jordan Rudes, is going on tour together for the first time in fourteen years and on July 21 will present their “An Evening with Dream Theater” in our country at the invitation of Fest Team. A limited number of tickets for the concert at the Ancient Theater in Plovdiv go on sale on October 15, Tuesday, on the ticketstation.bg network at prices from 150 to 300 BGN.
The Dream Theater concert is part of the 40th anniversary tour, which kicked off this month in London and will cover more than 20 countries, including Bulgaria. Dream Theater was formed in 1985 under the name Majesty by Mike Portnoy, John Petrucci and John Myung, then students at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. After 20 years in the group, in which he contributed to the release of 10 classic Dream Theater albums, Mike Portnoy left the band in 2010. Now, to the delight of fans, the famous drummer is once again part of Dream Theater and the new album and tour marking the 40th anniversary of the band’s founding mark his triumphant return. Last week, the band also shared the release date for their 16th studio album Parasomnia (February 7, 2025 from InsideOutMusic) and a brand new single and video – Night Terror.
