On August 1, the small stage at Vidas Art Arena brings together two of the most unconventional names in contemporary metal for one night: Periphery and Within Destruction. Progressive metal built on precision and emotional depth meets deathcore that is absurd, heavy and provocative all at once. Tickets go on sale on April 17 through Ticket Station, with prices starting at €33.
GRAMMY®-nominated Periphery are among the pioneers of modern progressive metal, continuously rewriting their own rules for nearly two decades. The lineup of Misha Mansoor, Jake Bowen, Matt Halpern, Spencer Sotelo and Mark Holcomb represents a deep creative synergy that has become the band’s trademark over the years. Their sound combines virtuosic instrumentation, heavy riffs and cinematic soundscapes, carrying emotional depth and human vulnerability within them.
Their latest project, A Pale White Dot, is built around the theme of loneliness, not as an abstraction, but as a series of personal and artistic interpretations. Recorded entirely as a collaboration between the members live, it captures the energy of the moment and shows Periphery perhaps at their most honest. Their signature vocals, complex structures and melodies that stay with the listener are enriched here with something deeper and heavier. From their debut album in 2010 to the present day, Periphery have rapidly risen through the ranks with millions of streams, a series of successful albums and concerts across several continents. Live, the Bulgarian audience will witness what the band is best known for – their precision, intensity and ability to turn complex music into a captivating experience.
On the other side are Within Destruction – the Slovenian band that proves it is entirely possible to take the genre seriously without taking yourself too seriously. Formed in 2010, the band quickly gained international attention with their aggressive sound. With the album VOID, they established themselves as a powerful presence in the deathcore scene, while DEATHWISH brought them a new audience and further success through tours across Europe and the US. What sets Within Destruction apart is their unpredictability and the impossibility of knowing what their next project will sound like.
On August 1, both bands – and this pairing is anything but conventional – will take the stage as part of one show presented by Fest Team. Tickets starting at €33 go on sale on April 17 through Ticket Station.
