GUS GUS: sound turns into a multiverse on September 11 at Vidas Art Arena

Icelandic pioneers of the electronic scene Gus Gus are coming to Sofia for a special live performance on September 11, 2026, at the small stage of Vidas Art Arena, by invitation of Fest Team. They will present the Bulgarian audience with an evening that will go beyond the format of an ordinary concert and transform into an immersive audio-visual experience, where club energy, experimental sound and artistic freedom will merge into one. The collective, regarded as one of the most enduring and influential names in contemporary electronic music, arrives with its signature approach to live performance – constantly evolving, improvised and always unique, turning every stage appearance into a separate sonic universe. Tickets for Fest Club members go on sale tomorrow – May 28, while general sale through Ticket Station begins on May 29, with prices starting from €39.

For more than 25 years, Gus Gus have existed at the intersection of electronic music and contemporary art, refusing to be defined while building their history through both chaos and precision. Often described as a multimedia art collective rather than a traditional band, they have gone through creative breakdowns, unexpected transformations and breakthrough moments that have established them as one of the most influential forces in global electronic culture.

Born in the experimental underground of Reykjavík, Gus Gus move freely between techno, house, trip-hop and cinematic electronics. Their sound is never static – it breathes, mutates and dissolves into an atmosphere that balances analogue texture, digital futurism, club energy and emotional depth, while on stage they reconstruct their music in real time. Every concert is a one-off process of destruction and rebirth: extended structures, live improvisation and distorted soundscapes guarantee that no two experiences are ever the same.

Throughout their history, the group have been behind remixes and collaborations with names such as Depeche Mode, Björk and Sigur Rós, cementing their position at the crossroads between electronic avant-garde and pop aesthetics. Today, with Biggi Veira, Daníel Ágúst and Margrét Rán in the lineup, Gus Gus continue to expand their sonic mythology, filled with melodic emotion and inspired by the aesthetics of the 80s and 90s, while being reimagined through the lens of the contemporary club scene.

On September 11, Sofia will become part of a sonic universe that is born and disappears in real time. Tickets for Fest Club members go on sale tomorrow, while general sale through Ticket Station begins on May 29. Prices start from €39.
