Following the epic finale of one of the most significant television phenomena of our time, Emmy Award winners Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein are coming to Sofia with a specially created audio-visual show paying tribute to the entire Stranger Things saga. On September 14, 2026, at Hall 3 of the National Palace of Culture, the Bulgarian audience will have the opportunity to become part of a retrospective journey through the series’ entire musical universe, spanning all five seasons – from the iconic sound of 2016 to the climactic compositions of the final season. Tickets for the event go on sale on April 21, with prices starting at €55 through Ticket Station.
Dixon and Stein will present the Bulgarian audience with an immersive experience that blurs the boundaries between cinema and music. The show is not a concert in the traditional sense. For the visual concept, the duo has partnered with renowned artist Marcel Weber (MFO), who creates a minimalist yet striking stage design using light and “sculpted” fog. Light takes on a physical presence – at times ethereal and dreamlike, at others sharp and ghostly – transforming the atmosphere of Stranger Things into something tangible and alive.
Critics have long regarded Dixon and Stein’s music as some of the most memorable contemporary soundtracks. Pitchfork describes their work as “a soundtrack that understands the difference between retro and eternity,” while Louder Than War notes that it “doesn’t need visual context to transport you to the right mental space.” In the history of film and television, there are themes that outlive the images themselves – music that becomes a symbol of an entire era. The Stranger Things soundtrack undoubtedly belongs to this pantheon. Combining analogue synthesizers, minimalism and cinematic scope, Dixon and Stein create a sonic world that is inseparably connected to the fictional town of Hawkins, while also existing beyond it.
Their journey to success began far from the biggest stages. In 2009, together with Mark Donica and Adam Jones, the duo formed the band S U R V I V E – an experimental synth project known for its powerful and physically immersive live performances. Rather than relying on laptops, they brought entire walls of hardware synthesizers and amplifiers into small clubs, creating a sound that literally filled the space. This approach laid the foundation for their later work as composers. When the Duffer Brothers discovered S U R V I V E and invited Dixon and Stein to compose the music for Stranger Things, the duo took on a task on a scale comparable to that of an entire team of composers. As the series evolved – from a nostalgic science-fiction story into an epic supernatural saga – so did their sound, and today their soundtrack coexists with iconic songs such as Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill,” which experienced a massive revival thanks to the series.
The success of the series transformed the duo from underground artists into some of the most sought-after composers in the contemporary film and television industry. They won an Emmy Award for the series’ main theme and received multiple Grammy and ASCAP nominations. With the “Stranger Things – Live” concert, they invite audiences to experience this music in a new way – beyond the screen, but with all of its emotional power. This is a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in a world where sound tells stories and imagination knows no limits.
