Robert Plant Comes to the Ancient Theatre on July 6
The legendary voice of Led Zeppelin in concert in Plovdiv with Saving Grace and Suzi Dian

This summer, Bulgaria will welcome Robert Plant with Saving Grace and “All That Glitters…” – the most intimate and inspired form of music the legendary musician has created in recent decades. On July 6, 2026, the Bulgarian audience will become part of this magic at the Ancient Theatre in the oldest living city in Europe – Plovdiv. The Saving Grace project is remarkable not because of the past Plant naturally carries with him, but because of the music he is making now. Tickets, starting from 100 euros, go on sale on February 5, Thursday, at 10:00 via the Ticket Station network.

It is almost impossible to name another artist from the classic rock era of the 1970s who has aged with such naturalness and grace as Robert Plant. Instead of trying to recreate the glorious days of the past, the former Led Zeppelin frontman has spent most of the 21st century reimagining his early influences – American blues, English folk, early rock and roll, and classical music from the Middle East – transforming them into more grounded and ethereal musical landscapes. If his name still first brings to mind the cascading vocals of “Immigrant Song,” the concert in Plovdiv will reveal another voice – more restrained, more contemplative, and just as radiant. Because Plant no longer carries himself like a rock star, but rather like a humble student seeking new musicians and inspiration from niche scenes, whether bluegrass or indie rock, to breathe new life into his musical roots.

Saving Grace is the name of the group of musicians who have been performing with Plant since 2019, but they are not a backing band – they are his full creative partners. Vocalist Suzi Dian takes her place as an equal duet counterpart, and together they move through a carefully curated collection of covers – from one of Led Zeppelin’s earliest influences (“Chevrolet” in its frantic tempo), through favorites from psychedelic San Francisco band Moby Grape (the dreamy “It’s a Beautiful Day Today”), to his more recent fascination with slowcore legends Low (an energetic, Middle Eastern–tinged version of “Everybody’s Song”).

Intimate, emotional, and transcendental – a compelling palette of blues, alt-country, and folk storytelling that revives the spirit of roots music, relived and reimagined with the clarity of a contemporary perspective. This is how the Western music press describes the ten songs on Saving Grave.

“All That Glitters…” – Robert Plant’s concert with Saving Grace and the magnificent Suzi Dian is presented by Fest Team and is part of a concert series that began last year and continues into 2026. The Ancient Theatre in Plovdiv, with its natural acoustics and sense of timelessness, is a natural choice for the location of this magical concert. It is a place where music – subtle, layered, filled with shadows and nuance, free of unnecessary noise or pretense – can breathe among the ancient stones. You can find the Facebook event here.

Tickets are limited and available only through the Ticket Station network, with sales starting on February 5 at 10:00.
