Natalie Imbruglia, Morcheeba, Apollo 440 and Kraak & Smaak fill the music scene

Imagine the biggest picnic with your loved ones, to the sounds of world music and in the company of top artists, chefs and entertainment for young and old – this is The Big Garden Party. The weekend of May 31 and June 1, 2025, Fest Team will transform Arena Sofia (Stolich Kolodrom) into the heart of the biggest family celebration in the city. The Big Garden Party will offer three stages with over 12 hours of daily program, filled with music, games, theater, comedy, culinary challenges and dozens of other surprises for all ages.

The festival brings together on one stage for two days the world-famous Natalie Imbruglia, Morcheeba, Apollo 440 and Kraak & Smaak, who will take care of the unforgettable musical background of the weekend. The rest of the classy lineup is complemented by stand-up comedy, children’s theater, art and educational zones, interactive installations, family workshops, live culinary shows with top chefs and many more special moments that will make the event a true festival of joy in the city.

Music is the pulse of The Big Garden Party, dynamic, multi-layered and selected to unite generations and tastes. The evening of May 31 will be opened by Apollo 440 with their explosive combination of electronic sound, rock and ambient, also known from the soundtracks of cult films such as Charlie’s Angels and Lost in Space, which has made them favorites of audiences around the world. On the same day, Morcheeba will close the program with their hypnotic blend of trip-hop, rock and downtempo, which has made them one of the most influential British bands of the last decades.

On the evening of June 1st, the stage will be taken over by Kraak & Smaak, a Dutch trio with an innovative funk and disco sound, infectious rhythms and energetic live performances. The finale will be enchanting: Natalie Imbruglia will take to the stage in Sofia for the final touch of the two-day party in the park in Sofia. From the global success of “Torn” to her latest album Firebird and her upcoming concert release, Imbruglia proves that she remains an important voice in music for both the global and Bulgarian audience.

But the musical program is only part of the puzzle of The Big Garden Party, conceived as a celebration for all ages with a program that encompasses the whole family. The main stage during the day will feature Petar Baykov, who will read from his new book, Yavor Denchev with interactive science classes and shows, and magician Andreas, to enchant the audience with performances in which sound, vision and art meet in a common experience.

The comedy stage will offer non-stop laughter with performances by Yana Ognyanova, Georgi Kyuchukov, Dimitar Ivanov-Kapitana, “Sofia vs. Province” & “90’s Stand-up” with Inside Joke, Impro Theater “As You Like It”.

Fans of good food will find in the culinary zone master classes for adults, cooking workshops for children and parents, live demonstrations by Chef Stanislav Ivanov, Chef Iliyan Kustev and Chef Nikola Simeonov, as well as unexpected challenges such as pepper dressing and biathlon.

The daily program offers an impressive mix of activities for children and teenagers. The youngest (2–6 years) will take part in music workshops, while the older ones (4+ years) will enjoy a puppet show with classic fairy tales such as “The Fisherman and the Goldfish”, “The Frog Prince” and “Scheherazade”, as well as book presentations from the publishing house “Marmot”. The program also includes a symphonic concert “Musical Adventures” with the string quartet “Philharmonica”, art projects, competitive games with prizes, a soap show, mascots, face painting, a fairy tale museum and various arts & crafts activities.
