Wolf Alice, Kneecap, Just Mustard, Sleaford Mods, and Perturbator Bring Bold and Modern Sounds to PHILLGOOD in Plovdiv
PHILLGOOD, the newest festival in Fest Team’s portfolio, will transform Plovdiv into a hub of global music from July 17 to 19 at the Rowing Canal. While the first announced acts—legendary The Cure, Gorillaz, and Moby—set the scale and promised deeply emotional moments for multiple generations of Bulgarian fans, the next five names bring a completely different flavor—fresh energy and contemporary sounds that make the local stage feel as globally relevant as ever.
The frequency shifts sharply with the inclusion of Wolf Alice, Kneecap, Just Mustard, Sleaford Mods, and Perturbator as part of the PHILLGOOD program. From North London alternative firepower and provocative political hip-hop, to deep dream-rock and social electro-punk, to dystopian electronics that sound straight from the future, this lineup blends legendary artists with cutting-edge names, making the festival a place where front-row spots will vanish fast. Three-day and single-day tickets are on sale through Ticket Station.
Wolf Alice arrive at PHILLGOOD at the height of their creative powers. Following albums like My Love Is Cool, Visions of a Life (Mercury Prize), and the tender intensity of Blue Weekend—the album that shot the band to #1 in the UK and won them a BRIT Award—Wolf Alice returned in 2025 with The Clearing, revealing an even stronger version of themselves. Critics say if Fleetwood Mac were recording an album today in North London, it would sound like The Clearing. After performances on massive stages such as Glastonbury and Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Wolf Alice come to Plovdiv more confident, mature, and fearless, ready to claim the frequency they deserve. PHILLGOOD will welcome them on July 17, shortly before headliner The Cure.
The acts performing before Gorillaz on the main stage on July 18 are in the midst of a turbulent, high-profile period. Kneecap, the loud, provocative trio from Belfast, have been a thorn in the side of conservative media. Following Fine Art (2024) and their BAFTA-winning film featuring Michael Fassbender, Kneecap have been at the center of global discussions on Irish republicanism and independence. From banned debut singles on Irish radio to legal battles over artistic freedom, charitable contributions, sharp political humor, Irish-language hip-hop, and explosive stage shows, they are bringing all this to PHILLGOOD for the very first time this summer.
The Irish thread continues with Just Mustard, who transform the misty, melancholic Irish sound into something bold, dreamlike, and occasionally almost supernatural. Fronted by the hypnotic voice of Katie Ball, the band navigates a unique space between noise and ethereal textures with post-rock, shoegaze, and dream-pop nuances, enriched with that distinctive northern chill—perfect for Plovdiv on July 17. Their recently released third album, We Were Just Here, is their brightest, most immersive, and hypnotic work to date.
One of the most unusual and striking acts emerging from the UK in recent years, Sleaford Mods, demonstrate how far music can go when stripped down to the essentials: one laptop, one voice, and a world falling apart around them. Nottingham duo Andrew Fearn and Jason Williamson have turned minimalist electro-punk into a weapon against contemporary absurdity. Sleaford Mods come to PHILLGOOD with their new album The Demise of Planet X—their vision of the world’s end, which they see not as apocalypse or war but as the slow collapse of everyday life, soaked in social fatigue, cultural noise, and small but relentless disasters. As the world unravels, their music grows brighter, denser, and more alive, with basslines, chaotic electronics, disco flashes, guest vocals from Gwendoline Christie and Aldous Harding, and a merciless flow of live lyrics. On July 18, they will take the main stage at PHILLGOOD.
In addition to the main stage, PHILLGOOD will feature two other stages with distinct energies and sounds, with Perturbator as the first confirmed name for one of them on July 17. French producer James Kent, renowned for his dark electronic synth landscapes, creates his own dystopian universe of industrial sounds, cold synths, and dramatic atmospheres. Following global tours and an upcoming album with giants Nuclear Blast, Perturbator brings a sonic experience that feels like the noise of a futuristic city—dense, tense, and impossible to miss.
And this is just the beginning. The PHILLGOOD lineup will continue to expand, with more artists to be announced soon. Stay updated on the latest news and ticket releases at PHILLGOOD’s official site.
